Went and saw slumdog Millionaire.

My local cinema was packed despite it being a cheapie Tuesday night.
Not expecting the crowd, our group had to split up and search out scattered single seats amongst the crowd. Our fault for having that one extra GnT. Was this popularity the Oscars effect?
Amazing movie.
Half way through I had a crisis of confidence at the amount of work that must have gone into making this film.
Art, music, story. All brilliant. Not surprised it won an Oscar for cinematography.
Interesting, all the media stories circulating about the film.
Talk of it being poverty porn, and of child actors that were under paid and still stuck in the slums they were born into.
What? Like the 'American dream' of elevation to wealth and fame for being in a 'hit' film are supposed to apply to Indian slum urchins?
