Out on location in scenic Marrackville: test shoot 26th September
There was going to be a major make-up effort made this week. It didn't quite work out so we ended up fooling around, shooting some stills for a couple of hours.
You can see the results in the preceding blog entries. The rabbit was passing by so we dragged him in to help out with the shots.
The wonderful photos in this entry were taken by Bec.
Eleanor, one of the song writers dropped by for a visit.
Brilliant meeting her, and I hope we get a chance to meet all the song writers at some point.
Bec bought in a song that El has been working on.
Wish you could have been there to see seven people all sitting in a circle, leaning in to listen to an iPhones tinny speaker. We were rapt!
Ya know, it's funny. When you start something like this, sometimes you wonder whether everything will come together. Then you hear something like El's song, or you see some of the footage we're getting and you think 'holy crap!' This might actually work'
We also got to meet Shalane, who is taking on the part of Street Girl.
We are accumulating a fine cast and you can get a taste of their performance in the test video that we shot.
Also want to welcome Stef to the production. She is coming on as our 1st (not that job titles mean much on this production as everyone is expected to lend a hand at what ever needs doing.)
Got a bit of Wardrobe action happening having found a great leather jacket for the Drug Dealer in the bins at Anglicare. We tried out several Street Girl outfits on Shalane and got some good ideas.
The aim of these test shoots is to build an good team, and to rake together material that we can use to 'sell' the project.
I feel that we are getting close to achieving both these objectives.
I hope everyone else is also beginning to feel that 'we could be onto something funky here'.
