Covid 19 : First day of level two lock-down

For most of the country this means that the virus has been eradicated. Auckland still has cases but the curve seems to be flattening.

I bolted down to the hardware store today and it was PACKED. The roads were crazy busy too. Thing about hard lock-downs are, that they create pent up demand.

How is this total lock-down different from last year?

Only Auckland is affected, so the rest of the country is a bit blasé despite the Delta variant. I think it’s because we have vaccines this time around.

Lots of people wearing masks this time around. Last time masks weren't mandated

We know it’s going to be fine after the hard lock-down is lifted, cause the economy bounced back like a prick last year.

Oz is totally fucked. Last year they looked like they had it all under control.

Much less tolerance for anti-vaxxers. Last year we thought of them as loony but harmless. This year their antics aren't appreciated.

Govt is prepared to lock off regions rather then keep the whole country indoors.
