Thousands dying from preventable disease
Troops in the streets
‘Strongman’ leader simultaneously cowering and postering behind a wall of security.
Riots and looting
Public condemnation by UN and EU.
Physical attacks on journalists
The internet might have given us the means to link up to each other more directly than any other time in history, but I reckon it’s the shared experience of the Covid virus that is driving the world wide protests of the George Flyode killing.
Covid is a very personal and shared mortality check.
Much like every country, the U.S. is full of inconsistencies.
There are those who have stockpiled weapons just in case the government decides to turn the military against them.
But their hero, Trump, has unleashed the military onto the streets of D.C. to quell the anti-racism demonstrations. I bet he has their complete support.
Fat, white, gun toting, patriots can storm government buildings protesting the lock-down, but protests demanding equality are whats really endangering lives?
