Sunday covid 19 update : If you’ve made the wearing of face masks compulsory, you’ve failed.

I’ve been trying to work out why some people don’t trust scientists any more.
Is it all the evil scientists in the movies?
Is it that every new bit of info about our universe shakes some sort of spiritual belief?
How scientists know the coronavirus came from bats and wasn’t made in a lab


I've decided that you only need to insist on masks in the population, when the virus spread is completely beyond your control. New Zealand has never insisted on masks because we went hard and early and cleaned it out of the population. Then we took our border controls seriously.
You need to quickly capture people's hearts and minds, before the ‘fruit cakes’ start to emerge and spread their divisive poison.
You could argue that New Zealand 'gamified’ the Covid response. We were a team, there were rules, and a score sheet. A strategy!

I've noticed that people like Fauci in America and the WHO originally didn’t advocate that populations wear masks. Shut-downs, social distancing, and contract tracing were the tools of choice.
