Sunday covid 19 update : Not long now to find out the future of the planet
No I’m not talking about Covid this week, I’m going to write about the upcoming U.S. election.
Friend of mine posted a video earlier in the week…
I've long felt that a lot of people lie to pollsters about what they might view as socially unacceptable topics.
I personally believe that Trump will be elected again in November. Americans have been soaked in their country's homegrown mythology for so long, that they can't accept a changing environment. This mythology is Trump's playground.
I was watching this week's NASA post Space X splashdown briefing with the astronauts. Both the NASA management warm bodies spoke of a great achievement for the U.S.
Musk, who is an independent business man, spoke of the great achievement for humanity. The NASA guys wanted bipartisan support and cash from the government. Musk wants to sell a service to everyone in the world.
Americans are desperate to go back to a post WW2 status quo, where they came out of that war richer, more powerful, and more comfortable then every other human on the planet. To get back there, they will be prepared to burn down the rest of the planet.
People are going to hate Bindin because he seems to be drifting into dementia. Which means the presidency isn’t being run by the person they voted for. Muck like the George W. Bush presidency was run by his inner circle.
Much like with Hillary and in Oz with Bill Shorten, the Left is standing uninspiring candidates and losing 'unloseable elections'. The Dems had several interesting possibilities that were all discarded in a desperate desire to 'beat Trump. Nothing else such as policy or ideas matters.
They think that this is how they can beat Trump. To repeat a phrase used by Jas over here, 'play the ball, not the man'. The Democrats are 'playing the man'.
Covid has added an extra layer of fear to the U.S. psyche, and fear is where the Right lives.
The Left doesn't seem to understand that Trump is an inspiring figure just like Obama. He's inspiring for the most base lizard brain parts of humanity, but inspirational nonetheless.
Since the last Oz election, I've given up blaming the candidate, or even the dopey electorate. I blame the organised Left for not doing their job properly.
The friend who posted the video seemed to be offended that I branded voters who choose the Right as ‘lizard brained’.
Trump has set the bar so low for civility, that I pretty much feel free to say anything I like about people I disagree with.
Let's call it the trickle down theory. A nation's leader sets the tone for the society.
I find this ‘suspension of one's personal ethics’ phenomenon that surrounds Trump, interesting.
Though one finds his actions repugnant, one is prepared to be led by such a person.
I've heard it referred to as the ‘Saul of Tarsus’ paradox in reference to American evangelicals.
The righteous being led by the unrighteous. He is the ugly defective tool used by God to further his design.
It’s why followers of TV evangelists and cult leaders are forgiven of their crimes by their flocks.
I've reached a point where it's not that I will ever trust an American government ever again, it's that I will never trust the American voter ever again.
