Cybertrucking across the universe.

Once upon a time, the richest man in the world decided that he wanted to control a small part of the social discourse, so he bought Twitter.

And now he isn't the richest man in the world.

Musk isn’t interested in making the world a better place. He has a laser focus on disrupting industries and thus ‘making a killing’. I noticed that during covid, at first he was all philanthropic with his pledge for Tesla designed respirators, but when covid had dragged on, and he realised that it was affecting Tesla productivity, he started to do some really suss things like forcing workers to show up during lockdowns.

He’s ‘gift’ to Ukraine was something very similar. Donate Starlink terminals to help the war effort, but once it was apparent that the war was driving inflation, and affecting his business. He starts lobbying for Ukraine to give up to the Russians the Dombas, and starts looking for reasons to shut down the Starlink service.

I think he moved to Texas as unlike California, that state there doesn't get too involved with businesses run there, and recently he has been actively backing the GOP.

I think Twitter is Musk deciding that he needs to control the narrative. To be the widest influencer in the world..

I don't get the impression that Elon is a 'car guy'. Not like what I've seen from Lucid or Rimac.

As my SpaceX/Elon/Tesla thesis has developed, I now reckon that Elon isn't interested in battery tech for cars on Earth, it's because on Mars, batteries are going to be the 'go to' for energy storage.

I reckon the cyber truck design originated at SpaceX as a mars buggy.

Maybe that is why Musk got involved with Tesla. He wants to cruise around on the surface of mars.

Tesla now has to solve some really stupid problems that they have created for themselves (I'm looking at you windscreen wiper)

This thing is going to be a U.S. standard full sized truck so few people in the rest of the world are going to want it. Musk has admitted this when he stated that they will probably shave down its size. And he keeps changing the spec like the four wheel steering they want to steal from the GM truck, possibly because the thing has a steering circle that would make a super tanker blush.

If you look at the design of the tray with those flying buttress sides, Tesla would be better off making a cyber van, and enclosing the tray completely.

The cyber truck is fundamentally urban

Its fundamental design philosophy is to be cool. Not useful. Much like the new GM Hummer.

The Cybertruck is the antithesis of the maverick which is small and useful.

I’d rather have the Mavericks 'accessible from three sides’ bed, rather then the ‘oh crap, I need to get into the bed and walk down to retrieve my tool box which slid to the front of the cybertrucks bed, under brakes’.

Basically everything is powered, so no power no nothing. I'm talking about the automatic door opening here.

If you are anywhere but an urban area, and for any reason you lose power, your truck will become a semi permanent landscape fixture.

They are probably going to fix the visibility issues with lots of cameras which means no power, no visibility.

The thing I hate the most about the design is the sharp angles all around body height. Guaranteed that there are going to be injuries incurred.and the thing won't even be moving.

I do like that the CT stainless steel body work won't be painted, but what I don’t like is that this thing is going to be a great big faceted mirror.

Anyone who isn’t diving the cybertruck is going to hate it, cause it will directly reflect sunlight into everyone's eyes. Look for accidents happening caused by sun strikes.

I don’t need a hermetically sealed and air filtered cabin, cause I don’t live and work in the middle of an urban toxic wasteland (and I need a videogame system in my car, like I need a hole in my head ;-) )

I’d rather have a ‘drive by wire’ system where I can move my truck like a RC with my phone, then the continuously undelivered promise of FSD.
