Ukraines Winter Wonderland

Winter is coming (as the GOT’s fans like to say) and they have the home ground advantage, so I reckon the Ukranians will spend the winter making this war expensive for the Russians. No need to shoot anyone, just destroy arms/fuel dumps, Keep the Russians bogged down in mud filled trenches and fox holes. Disrupt re-supplies..

The Russians triggered a nominal mobilisation of several hundred thousand bodies. Not a full mobilisation which might field upwards of a couple of million. Also, these will be older men, as the Russians seem to be afraid of their Millennials.

Arming, feeding, and transporting these conscripts is going to cost an arm and a leg, so it will drain Putin's war reserves faster. As will committing industry to service these requirements. It takes up to six months to train a grunt, and even longer if he has to operate some sort of machinery, but Putin will probably just throw a uniform and a gun at each one of these poor buggers, and ship them off.

Most of all the modern gear is laying out in a field smoking, but have no fear, the Ruskies have tons of mothballed WW2 tanks and stuff

Finally the Russian people will be involved in this conflict, and nothing focuses the mind quite like a stream of fathers and grandfathers in body bags.

Could be just me, but it seems like the Ukrainians are more interested in destroying weapons dumps, command centres, and capturing logistic hubs, than they are in killing Russians?

What if their plan is to control all inputs of the Russian army, and then let winter do the fighting for them?

Putin has mobilised ages under fifty, so beware legacy hungry baby boomers sacrificing everybody else on a war pyre.

The Russians moving a million under-equipped hungry human mouths into a foreign land, would pretty much suit the Ukrainian plan.

There is no way the Russians would be that dumb. What they will probably do is station all their new recruits at the border, pull back their veteran soldiers using them to train up the newbies, get their equipment up to scratch and then start a new offensive in the spring (or whenever the ground dries out)?

I think it’s about time Vlad the blackmailer did something about all this ‘trash talk’ he’s been copping.

He seems to think that he was ‘backed into a corner’ and needed to invade Ukraines. Well now we are the ones backed into a corner. No one can give him what he wants, so what next Vlad. unstoppable force has met The immovable object

The Russians have been one of the biggest arms suppliers to the world since ‘forever’.

Wouldn’t it be funny if the US or the EU went around buying up all this gear and shipped it to Ukraine? (turns out, that they did).

In all of Zelenski's speeches, he has never asked for foreign‘boots on the ground’.

He has only asked for the means to level the playing field, and the Ukranians will take care of the fighting themselves.

Best quote by a country's leader in like 4eva…

“The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.”

I would include Erdogan of Türkiye in the list of leaders who are damaging their countries seeking past glories of empire.

Jinping, Erdogan, Trump, Putin. Why is it, that boomer legacy building, seems to be preoccupied with resurrecting the past?

Putin has spent his whole life surviving by reacting to events. Chaos is his friend cause it gives him the opportunity to react faster than those around him.

He doesn't plan and doesn't have any imagination, and he has reached seventy with not much to show for his time on earth. Russia has arguably declined under his command.

So he has decided that he needs a better legacy, and he is trying to buy it with blood.
