Covid 19 : Day 5 of lock-down two: You WILL comply
Compliance will be more of an issue as this pandemic drags on.
Glad we have vaccines now because human patience can be sustained for only so long, and an entitled patience is almost non-existent.
I was looking forward to the Saturdays episode of the latest reality TV show, Aussie Aussie Aussie, oi oi oi.
Wasn’t disappointed when the footage of raging fruit loops in Sydney and Melbourne was splashed all over the tv screen.
For a long while now, I’ve had the opinion that anti-vaxxers are ‘chicken shit trolls’, shovelling their poison on the internet and at dinner parties.
But on Saturday they mobilised and vented.
I've noticed that 'entitlement' has been growing in the national identity of Australia since at least the late nineties
IMO little Johnny Howard was the nexus for the 'libertarian ethic' that has crystallized in the Ozzie psyche. I remember thinking at the time 'why do Australians keep voting for this selfish little imp?'
This sort of self interest masquerading as social justice is the latest expression of the Ozzie ethic of ‘self before society’.
Young men think that their bodies are impervious to everything..
Religions of any kind have a 'built in' elitism.
Huge chunks of the population feel that their short life experience is more 'true' than hundreds of years of scientific effort.
So many people act like they live in isolation.
Turns out that it’s ‘impolite’ to inquire as to someone's vaccination status. This surprised me a bit as most people I run into are more than happy to detail their vaccination experience.
I guess we must just give people time to ‘come out of the closet’.
